Cozy Winter Favorites | Target Style

Winter is here

and it’s time to get cozy

Creating a cozy and welcoming vibe is one of my main priorities as I continually work on curating our home. This year I did a simple refresh on the living room to create a white winter holiday look, which you can read more about here and today I am sharing my cozy winter favorites, all from Target!

I’m pretty confident our golden doodle spends her days rotating around to the various blankets we have out on the sofas looking for her next favorite place to nap. She does a great job showing off just how inviting these blankets are to snuggle up with at the end of the day.

It doesn’t need to be complicated to be an inviting space for both you and your guests. I have a few basic items I rely on to help create a sense of comfort and warmth during the winter months. These changes can be low budget, classic pieces which you can use on repeat throughout many seasons.

Cozy Blankets and Pillows | Adds Texture and Warmth

I’ll be honest, I typically use a blanket all year round. There is something for me about having a blanket on my lap which gives a feeling of safety and comfort. This time of year, I love a soft textured blanket encouraging me to snuggle in for a few hours with a good book or movie. Below is a list of my favorite Target blankets and pillows we are loving right now!

$25 Faux Rabbit Fur Reversible Throw This throw is so comfortable and it’s reversible!

$35 Channel Faux Fur Throw I love the texture on this one which adds a nice visual interest.

$30 Coziest Electric Throw Blanket This heated throw is my go to when I need extra warmth.

$15 Faux Rabbit Fur Throw Pillow A matching pillow to the throw which pairs well together.

$20 Modern Tufted Pillow This classic pillow is out all year and blends well with different styles.

Soft Lighting and Lamps | Slows Down the Evenings

Anything you can do around your home to encourage relaxation and a sense of comfort, I’m all in! I love lamp o’clock time about as much as I love wine o’clock time. There is something about the soft lighting which encourages me to relax and stay awhile longer snuggled in a blanket (of course!).

I recommend having a combination of both floor and table lamps throughout your home. Not only do they help fill a space, they give warmth to a room inviting you to slow down.

These lamps from Target are my favorites and used in several spaces in our home. The styles have a simple design and I love how they look with the soft lighting on at night.

$55 Londonberry Stick Floor Lamp

$40 Faux Wood Table Lamp

We use a timer on the lamps on the main floor which is an easy way to ensure we have a hardwired signal for the start of the evening. Without fail, every time they turn on I have a little burst of joy at the softness of the lamps as they warm up our rooms.

These simple ideas are the foundation for creating a space to foster the feeling of warmth and comfort we all crave during the cold winters. If you are needing a refresh after the holidays, invest in a few textured blankets and pillows to soften the look on your sofa. Add in some soft lighting in the form a lamp or two and you have created an environment for rest and relaxation!

Final Thoughts | Embrace the Winter Season

Winter can be a tough season for many of us and the cold, dark days can take a toll on our mental health. Spending effort to bring into your home comforts which allow you to relax and embrace the season, can provide you with a sense of renewal during these times of hibernation.

While I am always anxious for spring to arrive, the older I am, the more I embrace this time of the year when we slow down, allowing us to reflect and plan for our growth and renewal.

Cheers!
