Design & Wine | Unique Gifts & Modern Home Decor

If you have spent time reading Home with Booz, you know by now I have a passion for both design and wine. I love enjoying a good glass of wine with friends or family and if there is ever an opportunity to visit a winery, count me in!
I always find inspiration in the design choices featured at many wineries, reflecting the organic, earthy colors found in nature.
Today I am going to share a few tips on how to give a unique gift to any wine enthusiast in your life and share a few easy ways to add timeless pieces into your home from your favorite vineyards.

Unique Gift Ideas
If you know someone who loves wine and has a nice variety in their home, gifting wine can seem intimidating to many of us. If you want to be sure you bring over one of their favorite wines, simply ask them for a few ideas. But don’t be too intimidated that you lose confidence to bring over one of your favorite wines. We don’t love every wine we taste, but part of the experience is exposure to new and different varieties to expand your tastes. If the occasion calls for it, below are a few other unique ideas to consider.

Sports Milestones
We love to watch sports around here and we have enjoyed the success of our Kansas City Chiefs the last few years. These etched wine bottles are not only fun to have out on display, it’s also a great way to highlight your favorite sports teams and milestones like World Champions! I hope to be adding another one of these to our collection soon!

Wine Coasters
A bottle of wine is a nice and easy gift for anyone who loves wine. Grab one of your favorites to share and add an extra item like this marble wine coaster to pair together for a special occasion. I shared in this post how we use these wine coasters on repeat and this is a go to gift for me to add with a bottle of wine.

Special Dates
The use of a fun label on a wine bottle that reminds you of the recipient, has endless possibilities. Our friend (and realtor) gives a bottle of House Wine for buyers after their closing and makes a special note on the label to anchor the moment. I love the play on the gift of house wine, along with a way to celebrate a big milestone in life.
Anchored Memories
Over the years I have become more selective on what I purchase as a souvenir when on a special trip. I try to find one unique piece to add to our home decor in a timeless style, which can anchor us back to a memorable vacation. If it won’t serve a purpose or fit in an existing space, it’s a no for me.

Timeless Home Decor
Below are a few special items from our vacations at different wineries which have passed the test as a souvenir I can easily add to our space to anchor a memory to a special time in our lives. These items are also unique gift ideas for any wine enthusiast!

Decorative Objects
A Gravity Wine Holder is a unique piece to add to your wine display or bar area to highlight a favorite wine. We found this one while on a family trip to Italy. This simple design adds visual interest and tells a story of a memorable trip. If you aren’t able to make a trip to a winery anytime soon, there are some great options on Etsy. I’ve linked a gravity wine holder here to get you started on your search for a perfect gift or new home decor piece for the wine enthusiast.

Wine Books
I shared in this post how books are one of my favorite items to use when styling a shelf or coffee table. On our trip to Walla Walla, Washington we picked up the Signature Wines & Wineries of Washington book as a souvenir early on in our trip. This was a great way to read up on the local wineries, and get a few signatures from the winemakers during our visit. Adding this book to our wine cellar was a great way to anchor the memory of a special trip!

Wine Barrels
Items made out of wine barrels is another unique piece to add to your home decor. During our trip to Napa Valley, we enjoyed looking at all the ways wine barrels can be repurposed and used around your home. We purchased this wine tray and have it set out in our wine cellar, making it a great place to collect wine corks. Etsy also has fun ideas such as this wine barrel charcuterie board or wine barrel centerpiece which are timeless pieces to add to a space.

Final Thoughts
Slowly curating items into your home which reflects your life experiences and things you love, can be done in a way which still allows you stay true to your design style. In fact, it is those special pieces which help shape your home to reflect your personality and life story. So don’t rush the process! Take your time, drink the wine and enjoy life’s experiences.
Do you have a favorite wine you are always grabbing to share with others or a favorite trip to a winery you would recommend to friends? I would love to hear from you! Drop a note in the comments and let me know your favorite wine or winery I should try next! Until next time, cheers to a great week!
This post pairs well with a L’Ecole Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon one of my favorite wineries from Washington. If you found this post helpful, please consider sharing with others on Pinterest! Cheers!
